The challenge

Secondary students following Tanzania’s new Competency Based Curriculum (CBC) struggle to access practical STEM and vocational learning because of limited laboratories, equipment and trained teachers.

Ekima’s contribution

Ekima and TIE co-designed and built the LMS powering Opschool, digitised CBC-aligned STEM and vocational content, and integrated AI-driven learning support.

Fursa Plus — Skills Marketplace

The challenge

Partners including WSHA, DOT, Ennovate, TRIAS, SIDO, VETA and FETA lacked a seamless way to deliver skills training digitally at scale, while youth and women struggled to find relevant courses in one place.

Ekima’s contribution

Ekima designed and built FursaPlus as a unified skills marketplace, letting partners digitise and deliver interactive training and giving youth and women one place to access practical skills courses.

The Institute of Adult Education needed a digital way to recognise, issue and manage the learning achievements and micro-credentials of adult and non-formal learners.

Ekima designed and built the IAE Badge System: the digital infrastructure for issuing, managing and verifying learning achievements and credentials.

IAE Micro-Credentials & Offline Learning

Many adult and out-of-school learners have limited access to digital learning because of connectivity, device and infrastructure limitations.

Ekima is supporting IAE to digitise IPOSA micro-credentials and deploy an offline-first learning app for tablets, so learners can access interactive content, assessments and learning resources with or without internet.

Church-owned schools managed admissions independently, making it hard for parents to discover schools, apply, pay and track applications through one simple process.

Ekima’s contribution

Ekima built a centralised admission platform for CSSC schools. Parents discover schools, apply, pay and track their admission status in one place, while schools get digital tools to manage applications.
